Stock Selection


At Rondo we bring in stock from 2,000 trade suppliers in order to give the customer the largest selection possible. We stock a large range of different media including dedicated classical and audio book catalogues.


Books:
  • We currently have a searchable catalogue of over 1.3 million books from our suppliers database
  • Our principal suppliers are: Gardners (Eastbourne); Total Home (Entertainment, East Midlands); Easons (Belfast and Dublin)
  • Self selection facilities for books, audiobooks and CD-ROMs are available at these major wholesale warehouses
  • Rondo's Anybook service can supply virtually any commercially available imported book quickly and at a competitive price (imported titles may be subject to delays and surcharges).
  • Our monthly buyers guide provides high quality annotated information on new and forthcoming titles.
  • We can provide Dewey classifications and UK-MARC records on request.


Talking Books: (Audio books, children's tapes and language courses)
  • We can supply every commercially available retail spoken word title and language course.
  • A unique self selection service can be arranged at a number of warehouses.
  • We issue a regular categorised listing of all new audio book releases.


Videos and DVDs:

Sell through Videos and DVDs:
  • We can supply every commercially available video. Our main Video and DVD catalogue contains over 20000 titles.
  • Self selections can be made at large warehouses in England or in Belfast.
  • We issue an extensive, fully categorised monthly listing of new sell-through video titles.
Rental Videos and DVDs:
  • We offer a rental video and DVD supply service at trade prices.
  • We provide advance notification of forthcoming titles with free advice on video selection and in-branch promotional display materials.
  • Servicing facilities are available.
Educational and Training Videos:
  • We are in a unique position to offer a complete service to the libraries with regard to video acquisitions. As your video supplier, we would be happy to meet all requirements for videos, both normal video stock and specialist educational or training videos.
  • We can supply virtually every educational or training video.
  • We deal with over 100 individual suppliers on your behalf.


Music Recordings:
  • Rondo has supplied self selection and request orders to library customers since 1983.
  • We can supply any commercially available music recording - classical, pop, Irish, Scottish, folk, jazz or world music. Rondo holds accounts with every significant supplier in the record trade. We are the main suppliers of music and video recordinmgs to many prestigious customers , including the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity College of Music, Middlesex University, Dundee City Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Dublin Public Libraries and Belfast Public Libraries.
  • We have exceptional expertise in the field of classical music recordings. We can supply all of those difficult-to-get small labels as well as all of the majors.
  • Bulk orders may be selected from millions of £'s worth of stock held at wholesale warehouses in London, Belfast or the Midlands.
  • Our free monthly new release service provides categorised lists of up to 1000 of the latest titles on both CD and cassette.


CD-ROM and Computer Software:
  • Rondo can supply all commercially available reference and retail CD-ROM titles and thousands of items of computer software for IBM PC or Mac at highly competitive prices.
  • This useful service avoids the time-consuming and expensive process of having to deal with a large number of small suppliers for your CD-ROM and software needs. We can manage CD-ROM subscriptions (eg. BNB or The Times) on your behalf.
  • Rondo uses CD-ROM databases to track down the more elusive software.
  • We are distributors for many producers including Book Data Ltd and the British Library.

We have great expertise in the field of staff selection visits. We have developed special arrangements with our main suppliers to facilitate stock selection visits by library staff, including: Stock printouts in advance of the visit Visits accompanied by Rondo staff; services of a dedicated member of the warehouse staff Invoicing to an unlimited number of sub-accounts or budgets Computer-assisted stock selection Best seller lists Running totals of expenditure Assistance with transport or other costs (if permissible)
